Rare Earths could become a major source of Conflicts

Listing the countries with the largest reserves of rare earths in the world makes it easy to understand the concern of many Western countries. China, by far, and then Brazil dominate this market. India is in third place (Re.Statista.com). And the fact is that Ukraine, which is much talked about, not only has less than 1% of the world's rare earths resources, but also currently has no mines to exploit them. Obviously, the US cannot accept depending on China for access to these critical minerals. It should also be stressed that to thank the Americans for their support, the Ukrainian leaders agreed to offer them a privileged access to the critical minerals present in their subsoil. The American government is well aware that these rare earths were found in limited quantities in the Ukrainian subsoil, but it doesn't matter, it will do everything to ensure that China does not have access to them. We must face the facts, Ukraine does not currently represent an attractive source of rare earths. But what seems certain is that two countries, Greenland and Canada, are much more promising countries for rare earth mining. And these two countries have whetted the American President's appetite for rare earths.
